Application” made available to corporate
clients that have extensive dealer and
supplier networks, clients are able to
discount trade receivables of supplier
companies via the Internet Branch.
Serving as a solution partner and
consultant to enterprises
İşbank closely monitors and adapts to the
changes and transformations of firms
and continues to provide consultancy
and information services in line with the
developments in the global and national
economy.
In 2014, İşbank’s Headquarters and field
teams continued to make extensive
customer visits, which served to identify
the needs of about 166 thousand
commercial banking customers in the field
and helped the Bank meet those needs as
quickly as possible.
In addition to customer visits, “İş’le
Buluşmalar” meetings, which number
among the Bank’s information sharing
activities, were held in the cities of Elazığ,
Eskişehir and İstanbul in 2014.
Having started in 2012, “İş’te Seminer”
meetings are stimulating and educational
seminars that have been organized on
various issues of interest to clients, such
as the New Turkish Commercial Code, Basel
II, Public R&D Grants and Incentives. Under
this initiative, a series of events were held
in May 2014 in Istanbul, Konya and Kayseri
on the topic “How to Succeed in China.” At
these meetings, SMEs which already are
doing, or which want to do, business with
China were provided with experience and
know-how to help them to be successful in
this hugely important market.
İşbank closely monitors the changes and transformations
of the companies in line with developments in the world
economy.
Four new international awards go to the
İŞ’TE KOBİ website in 2014
Closely followed by firms of all sizes,
especially SMEs, the İŞ’TE KOBİ website
), boasted nearly 68
thousand members by end-2014.
Including awards received for the İŞ’TE
KOBİ’s innovative SUNUMATİK (sunumatik.
) application, which provides
SMEs with a tool to prepare company
introductory presentations both in English
and Turkish, and with four new awards
garnered from international competitions
in 2014, increasing the total number of
awards to 34.
Effective risk management approach
İşbank made improvements in the
agricultural credit risk assessment
processes for loan applications of clients
operating in the agricultural sector. These
customer applications are now subject to
standardized loan allocation processes
that include effective risk management,
thereby resulting in a healthy and profitable
agricultural loan portfolio.
To ensure a more accurate calculation
of income and expenses for customers
engaged in agriculture, some of the data
obtained from TARDES were integrated
into the loan allocation process. Thus, the
changes occured in product prices or costs
are provided to reflect on customer risk
levels on an accurate and timely basis.
Furthermore, an agricultural scorecard
application was developed in order
to incorporate dynamics specific to
agriculture related activities into systematic
evaluation process of the commercial
loans of agricultural enterprises as well
as data related to financial and payment
performance. Thus, proactive consideration
of sector-specific variables was enabled in
İşbank’s agricultural credit risk evaluation
process.
In 2014, İşbank continued efforts related
to collateral management; conducted
monitoring and reporting to increase
collateral update rates and to improve
data quality; and carried out systems
development activities.
