İşbank, continuing to be a leading player in the Debt
Securities Market, once again received an award from
the Borsa İstanbul Stock Exchange in 2015.
CAPITAL MARKETS
A commanding lead in the BIST Debt
Instruments Market
İşbank was the leading bank in the BIST
Debt Instruments Market in 2015 with a
trading volume of TL 3.6 trillion. The Bank
consolidated its pioneering and leading
position in Turkish capital markets with a
market share of 17.7%.
İşbank: Leader in private sector debt
instrument issues
Low levels of Treasury borrowing
requirements led the investors to
alternative instruments such as debt
instruments issued by private sector. The
issues of private sector debt instruments
gained momentum in 2015, as the banking
sector’s search for diversified funding
sources increased.
İşbank continued to issue debt securities of
different types and maturities during 2015,
in order to

secure long term funds,

diversify the Bank’s funding structure,

decrease the maturity mismatch
between assets and liabilities

»
offset short-term interest rate risk.
With total domestic bills/bonds issues
amounting to TL 12.8 billion in 2015, İşbank
captured a total market share of more
than 20% both in terms of total issues
and issues in circulation. Thereby the Bank
retained its sector leader position in 2015.
Leader in gold transactions
The total balance of gold deposit and
investment accounts at İşbank amounted
to 21.6 tons at end-2015. Maintaining its
leadership in the sector in gold deposit
accounts, the Bank’s market share stood at
18.8% as of year’s end.
In 2015, within the context of “Gold Days
at Branches”, amount of the physical
gold transferred into economy which
is interpreted as “under the mattress”
increased by 16% compared to the previous
year.
Synergy achieved with İş Yatırım
In 2015, İşbank, together with its subsidiary
İş YatırımMenkul Değerler A.Ş. (İş Yatırım),
generated 7.36% of the trading volume
in the Borsa İstanbul Equity Market. This
was the highest market share among 95
brokerage firms operating in this market.
Thanks to the synergy generated from this
collaboration, the Bank maintained its long-
running market leading position in 2015.
A significant role inmutual funds
market
İşbank continues to function as a fund
distributor in mutual funds sector, as the
Bank has handed over its founder role in
mutual funds sector in accordance with the
new Capital Markets Law. As of end-2015,
İşbank intermediated 21% of mutual funds
sales in the sector.
İşbank’s “Money Box Fund”, the first mutual
fund especially developed for children, is far
ahead of similar mutual funds in the sector
in terms of size and investor numbers.
As in previous years, İşbank plans to
continue improving its market share in the
money and capital market products and

Leader in collective custody
Under İşbank’s collective custody service
that began in 2015, the Bank provided 102
collective investment institutions with
custody services amounting to TL 11.4
billion. As a result, the Bank became the
sector leader with a market share of 30%
as of year’s end.
