26 İşbank
Annual Report 2015
Cooperation with international
institutions in financing of
investments
To date, the Bank has obtained a total
of EUR 550 million in resources from
the European Investment Bank (EIB) in
three different packages. As part of the
securitization transaction undertaken
by the Bank in 2015, a new resource
amounting to USD 221.2 million was
created. Efforts to make this resource
available for investments of İşbank’s
customers are underway.
İşbank continues to provide funding to
renewable energy and energy efficiency
projects through the EUR 175 million
granted under the Mid-size Sustainable
Energy Financing Facility (MidSEFF),
from EIB and the European Bank for
Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
İşbank allocates the funds provided under
the MidSEFF Program to finance medium-
sized renewable energy and industrial
energy efficiency projects. Thereby, the
Bank provides support to sustainable
energy projects that contribute to Turkey’s
energy supply and that meet prescribed
environmental and social standards.
In addition, under the loan agreement
signed between EBRD and İşbank, industrial
companies, business entrepreneurs and
private real estate owners who seek to
invest in renewable energy or energy
efficiency projects were funded so under
TurSEFF (Turkey Sustainable Energy
Financing Facility). İşbank continued to
provide such customers with tailor-made
financing solutions to meet their needs and
expectations.
As part of an agreement between Japan
Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC)
and İşbank, solutions were developed
during the year to respond to the financing
needs of companies importing from Japan
and of energy projects in which Japanese-
origin turn-key contractors are a part.
As part of the World Bank’s EFIL IV
Additional Loan, the process of making
resources acquired by İşbank available to
customers continued in 2015.
Under the agreement between KEXIM and
the Bank, financing opportunities were
provided to Korean firms’ use for their
operating capital and investment financing
and to companies doing business with
Korean-related firms.
As a result of the agreement signed
with Proparco, a subsidiary of the French
Development Agency, financing activities
of renewable energy projects amounting to
EUR 50 million continued throughout 2015.
